Norton Spoke at Dedication of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile
WASHINGTON, D.C.— On December 8, MedStar Georgetown Hospital hosted a reception for the new KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile vehicle. The new vehicle, which replaces an older aging unit, was purchased with the support of the owner-operators of McDonald's Family Restaurants of the Greater Washington area.
In attendance were Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, DC Council Member Charles Allen, as well as representatives of MedStar Georgetown, McDonald's Family Restaurants, and RMHC of Greater Washington, DC.
Children served by the KMMC/RMCM and their families were also present and assisted with the ribbon cutting.
Said Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton,
“I am grateful to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for working with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, D.C. to deliver critical pediatric health care services to children that need them most,” Norton said. “Every child, regardless of income or circumstance, deserves quality health care. I look forward to seeing this newest KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic setting up shop in neighborhoods across the District.”
The dedication of the new mobile clinic was followed by a toy drive. Since 1992, the KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic has provided underserved children and adolescents in the District of Columbia with quality pediatric health care services.
