Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Washington, DC Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement
Your #GivingTuesday donations will help families with sick children stay close to each other and the care and resources they need, when they need it most.
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
RMHCDC's #GivingTuesday campaign focuses on #KeepingFamiliesClose. Faced with a child’s illness life stops overnight and parents enter a world of fear and worry. For parents who don’t live close to the medical care their child needs, there’s an added stress. Distance. Most families have to travel hours for treatment. Living expenses quickly add up. Long drives, lost jobs, worried siblings, sleeping in cars. Being far from family and friends. These are extra burdens no family should have to experience. RMHCDC provides access to quality health care and enables family-centered care. RMHCDC helps families with sick children stay close to each other and the care and resources they need, when they need it most.
