• Twenty-six employees from Golin Harris stand in front of their service project and a quote from Al Golin that says,

Give more families the support and care they need to focus on helping their child fight for their life.

Volunteers are the helping hands and friendly faces that are essential to running the House and providing support for families in need.

For the safety and protection of our families and staff, we can only offer indoor in-person volunteer opportunities for small groups at this time.  But there is still a place for your large group at RMHCDC – from outdoor opportunities to virtual projects, we need your help!

Provide A Meal

More than ever, we need your help to Feed The House! While preparing meals for our families will look different for quite some time, we want to ensure we can still provide comforting meals to our guests. We encourage small meal groups, gift cards, meal drop offs/deliveries from local restaurants, and/or individual frozen meals. We also accept pre-assembled Take Home Meal Kits to provide families with food for their first day or two back home, until they can make it to the grocery store.

To provide a meal or drop off take home meal kits, visit our Sign Up page and click on the location you would like to volunteer at to see more information and get started.

Virtual Family Fun

To engage our children and families virtually, we are looking for pre-recorded videos that families can access at their convenience.  Some of the videos we have include: a morning with Potomac Alpacas, soccer tutorials from Soccer for the Future, a magic act, and story time.  If you want to teach a skill, please consider donating supplies and materials so that families can follow along (knitting, origami, etc.)

For more information on this opportunity, please contact Emma Ravdin at ERavdin@rmhcdc.org.
