Ronald McDonald Hospitality a la Carte
Extending care to families at the bedside of their hospitalized child.
Our Ronald McDonald Hospitality a la Carte program enables RMHCDC to extend many of the amenities of our Ronald McDonald Family Room to parents and other caregivers while they remain at their hospitalized child’s bedside. Several times a day Ronald McDonald Family Room staff and volunteers stock the hospitality cart with complimentary snacks, toiletries and reading material, as well as small toys and crafts for patients and siblings, and make rounds on the units.
Where the Hospitality a la Carte visits
At Children’s National the cart "makes rounds" on the Hematology/Oncology unit. At Inova Children’s Hospital one cart rounds on Hematology/Oncology, the other on the NICU, PICU, Cardiac Care and Medical/Surgical units. For parents and other caregivers who are reluctant to leave their seriously ill child even for just a moment, the bright and cheerful cart is a welcome sight. And the friendly face of the volunteer behind the cart reminds families that RMHCDC is there to provide comfort during a difficult time.
Sponsor or Donate to the Ronald McDonald Hospitality a la Carte
Individuals and businesses can choose to help sponsor the carts with funding designated for the purchase of cart amenities. In addition to sponsorship, individuals and businesses can support the carts by making in-kind donations of individually wrapped snacks and other items.
There are different levels of sponsorship available and donors are recognized on the carts as they round in the hospitals and are recognized on the RMHCDC website and through social media. More importantly: Your generosity helps ensure that the Ronald McDonald Hospitality a la Carte is making families’ hospital stays a little easier by staying well-stocked with snacks, small toys and other items of convenience and comfort.
