Our Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles operate in partnership with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital to bring medical, dental and health care resources directly to children near their home and school.  

The KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic/Ronald McDonald Care Mobile brings primary health care directly to underserved children in Washington, DC wards 5 through 8. The second Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is home to the FITNESS (Fun In Teaching Nutrition and Exercise to Successful Students) Program. The FITNESS Program partners with local schools to deliver a curriculum focusing on healthy eating and the importance of physical activity to students in grades K-8. The Program is piloting in Washington, DC with plans to expand to parts of Maryland and Virginia.

Services for Families

All Ronald McDonald Care Mobile services are provided in 40-foot long, 8-foot wide, state-of-the-art vehicles built specifically for delivering pediatric health care services. Our KMMC/RMCM includes two patient examination rooms, a laboratory, and reception and medical records areas. The FITNESS Program is housed on a mobile unit that can be configured for large or small group activities as well as individual consultations. Each Care Mobile costs approximately $500,000 to get on the road.

  • Prevention: We deliver health education, which reduces overall medical costs, addresses behavior and lifestyle choices and helps motivate families to improve and maintain their health.
  • Treatment: We provide services ranging from immunizations, preventive check-ups and treatment for chronic and acute illnesses to dental and mental health screenings.
  • Referral: Our team works with families to help them get access to ongoing care with specialists as needed.
