WHAT WE DO OUR STORIES
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Children’s National Hospital has supportive programs that help make it possible for parents to actively participate in their child’s treatment plan. For more than 20 years, the Ronald McDonald Family Room® has been an oasis of calm amid the hustle and bustle of the Hematology/Oncology unit at Children’s National Hospital. Only steps from their children, parents and other caregivers can briefly slip into another world, a place of quiet respite where they can have a snack or cup of coffee, check email, read, or just talk together and relax for a few minutes. Amenities include a washer and dryer, a full-sized kitchen, a comfortable living room area, and several computer bays. Staff and regularly scheduled volunteers greet and assist families and provide support for Family Room based programming.
