Volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Washington, DC

Volunteers are the Heartbeat of the House.

On January 3, 2020, the Ronald McDonald House of Washington, DC will be closing temporarily while we renovate to add more space for families. Volunteer opportunities will not be available at our Washington, DC location at this time. There are still ways we need your help to serve our families and children! Please consider signing up with our Northern Virginia House or contact Emma Ravdin at 202-424-2707 or ERavdin@rmhcdc.org for information.

Become a Weekly Volunteer:

Our Weekly Volunteers are the backbone and heart of our Ronald McDonald House.  The caring and cheerful volunteers are the first voices families hear on the phone and the first smiling face they see at the door.  We depend on our volunteers to keep the House running and to help us provide a comfortable and supportive “home-away-from-home” for our guests. Weekly Volunteer positions are an on-going weekly commitment for a minimum of 6 months. Weekly volunteers work one 2-3 hour shift the same day each week and must be over 18 years old.

Other Group Opportunities:

It takes a village to keep a Ronald McDonald House running smoothly.  There are many on-site and off-site opportunities for your group to help with that! Making grab-n-go bags filled with snacks or activities is always a hit with the families. Other ideas include helping with household chores, yard work, or even hosting a Wish List drive!  Find out more about how your group can help by checking out our Volunteer Opportunities for Groups.
