WHAT WE DO OUR STORIES
768 pairs of feet (and dozens of paws) walked and ran, but we raised a lot more than just feet this year! Thanks to our generous sponsors, fundraisers, donors, participants, and vendors, as of today we raised over $97,000 to help families in need at the 9th Annual Red Shoe 5k Run & Walk!
Other important numbers:
Estimated media reach: 155,739
Estimated publicity value: $1,440
Impressions across social platforms: 42.5K
You are a superhero to families with sick kids!
Thank you for being a special part of this race day, a friend to RMHCDC, and for making a difference in the lives of families in need. On behalf of the families and children served by RMHCDC, we thank you for every dollar given, every hour volunteered, every foot raised, and each ounce of love shared.
Since last year’s 5k, we’ve been able to provide more than 16,088 nights and visits to our Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles. Thank you to everyone who made the Red Shoe 5k possible – the participants, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and Red Shoe 5k committee, who raised their feet to raise hope for families… and raised the bar while they were at it! The Red Shoe 5k was successful thanks to all of your hard work and support!
Your support is making it possible to expand our Ronald McDonald Houses. The first phase of this expansion project, starting at the end of 2019, will add rooms to both Houses, addressing the needs of an increasing number of families with sick children seeking treatment in area hospitals. As we make way for more families, support like what you showed for the Red Shoe 5k is more important and more needed than ever!
Congratulations to all of the participants of the Red Shoe 5k! We are excited to recognize some of the award winners from this year’s race:
Congratulations to our male/female 5k winners: Vincent Jeter and Funjung Wetmore. To see all of the Runner Results and Overall Winners, visit: https://bishopsevents.com/2019-red-shoe-5k-results/
Originally called “Kaps for Kids,” more than 20 years ago this event began as a walk hosted by an alumni family. Then, 10 years ago, a running component was added and the Red Shoe 5k became our signature event. It has continued to grow ever since! While there have been different names and different locations, it always has the same goal at its heart – to give our community a way to come together, show support for, and make a positive impact on the families served by RMHCDC. Please join us for our 10th anniversary and biggest year yet!
