14 Nov Ronald McDonald House Charities ® of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC) Celebrates Giving Tuesday – Hosting “Day of Change” at Local McDonald’s Restaurants on Nov. 28th
Your small change can make a BIG difference for children and families facing pediatric illness.
Washington, DC – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC) announces their 2023 Day of Change efforts this Giving Tuesday. For those looking to give back, RMHCDC encourages the local community to drop spare change in the RMHC Donation Boxes or Round-Up order totals at your closest McDonald’s restaurant on Tuesday, November 28th and this holiday season.
RMHCDC will be hosting celebrations to kick off the season of giving at participating McDonald’s locations including the C Street, Washington, DC, and Roslyn, VA locations from 11am to 2pm. At the celebrations, customers will be greeted by RMHCDC volunteers with the opportunity to learn more about our local Ronald McDonald House programs and ways to get involved. Fun takeaways such as coloring pages, stickers, and more will be available.
These efforts will be continued throughout the holiday season as the DMV area Capitol Business Unit McDonald’s restaurants compete in their annual Hope for the Holiday’s challenge, in which restaurants raise funds for their local RMHC chapters.
“Thanks to McDonald’s, our Founding and Forever Partner, customers have donated over $120,000 this year through Round-Up for RMHC and RMHC Donation Boxes in local restaurants,” said Marlies Bronner, RMHCDC Strategic Partnerships Manager. “We are grateful to our generous partners and community members for donating their time and spare change to benefit the lives of families of children receiving critical care in the DMV area.”
For families staying at Ronald McDonald House, comfort and support comes in all shapes and sizes, such as a homecooked meal, clean laundry, or even a good night’s sleep. Together, just a few cents from each member of the community creates a big change in the lives of those staying at RMHCDC’s Ronald McDonald House programs. When just 10 customers Round-Up for RMHC each day, the donations will sponsor a family’s one-week stay at RMHCDC!
